About this stone

The dense structure of this North Indian, Rajasthan minerals, sandstone makes it durable and quick drying; it is composed of quartz and other minerals of relatively uniform size, which are commonly smoothed and rounded. Sandstone is a sedimentary rock made up of sand-sized minerals, rock, or organic particles that have cemented together over time. Autumn Brown Sandstone is often obtained from quarries in India and is frequently used for construction and landscaping purposes.

Where it is used

Autumn Brown Sandstone is used primarily for construction stone, ornamental stone, interior and exterior wall cladding, flooring, roofing, worktops, sinks, monuments, paneling, pool coping, sills, and paving stones. It has a natural appearance and enhances the look of a patio, path, or road. Autumn Brown sandstone paving slabs/tiles are frost resistant; they can be chiseled and dressed to a smooth surface or carved into a variety of designs; they can also be used as beams, pillars, arches, doors and window sills, wall facings, step stones, fence posts, and millstone.

Autumn Brown Sandstone is very resistant to acids, alkalis, and salt, as well as temperature variation, and is thus appropriate for construction along the coast or as a flooring material and wall facing in chemical plants. Indian sandstone pavement may have a very long lifespan if done and maintained correctly; but, with a substandard installation and inadequate maintenance, you should anticipate your paving to last 5 to 10 years. With a firm base and repointing every few years, your pavement should last 30 to 50 years, if not longer.
